Royal Parks Foundation SUPPORT THE RESTORATION OF BROMPTON CEMETERY

Brompton Cemetery is one of the Magnificent Seven Victorian cemeteries created in London in the 1830s. Its 39 acres live on today as a beautiful green oasis welcoming more than 700,000 visitors each year and providing a home to wide variety of flora and fauna.

This picturesque space is managed by The Royal Parks. It continues as a working cemetery with Grade I listed heritage status and offers tranquillity amongst the hustle and bustle of South West London. Famous names buried at the cemetery include suffragette Emmeline Pankhurst and cricket champion John Wisden, amongst many more.

Over the years, natural ageing means that the Cemetery is now in desperate need of restoration and a new lease of life. The good news is that the Heritage Lottery Fund and Big Lottery Fund have pledged £3.7m conservation support. This funding will be unlocked when we raise a minimum of £500,000 in match funding, £10,000 of this we aim to secure through smaller gifts, with the generous help of the commmunity.
